Hello all my well wishes!

Well after a very long and much needed break I am regaining my sew jo slowly but surely! I did mention to Mr Notsewshabby this morning that I have found the perfect spot to put my sewing station... He quickly gave me one of those looks! you know the look I mean the "here we go again" look. I started taking photos of all of my little goodies and am sharing them in my etsy store and my made it store. Check them both out. Store name is obviously notsewshabby all one word :)

Although I do need a little help with the photography department I am very sucky at that.... Probablly becuase I dont have the patience to read instructions...

Well Im up here in the warm weather of Darwin, and hearing all the family complianing about the rainy weather in Brisbane. Anyone who knows me knows that I would be dying to get back home to enjoy the cooler weather.

Well after months of my teenage daughter nagging me to make something from some curtain material I picked up in an Op Shop about 6 years ago, we finally put our scissors to work. With the help (uhumm) of artful teenager we commenced a journey in which of course I took over the whole project, purely through frustration and slowwwwwwwwwwwness of the artful teenager, who might I say has not a clue how to sew!! Look how our little skirt turned out! And guess what? I added a ZIP!!!! YAYYYYY!

Well Can I say I sewed my little tootsy off this weekend, thanks to a little tuorial I found on how to insert Zippers!!!! Yes a sewer I am, but I have stayed clear of zips as they look increadibly scary. Well after watching a tutorial on the internet, I am addicted to zipping. Have a look at these little Coin / phone / girly purses I made on the weekend

And I also made some little Smock dresses that will look adorable with leggings Jeans etc..

I found some denim I have had in my stash for about 4 years that I have never thought of using only because I forgot it was there!!!! Is that common hehe...... Im loving the meadowsweet collection!

OK so now I have the Meadowsweet collecection, I have to make something out of it and not just look at it all day adoring it!!! Ho Hum it is so pretty. I made this little Kimono dress which is reversable and must I say it has now become my favourite little pattern. I only have sizes from 12 months to 4 and need to source bigger sizes as they make cute tops too! I love the versatility of having two dresses in one outfit.

I am just loving the art of Shirring, Thanks Samantha from Jettas Nest for her valuable tips! I have added some new dresses to my Etsy Shop all of the Shirred dresses are multi sized to fit either as a Dress a Top or even a Skirt. See how practicle this style is!!!! My daughters are just loving that I have mastered this skill! I also added some cute little brooches to some of the dresses, which can be worn with any outfit!

I purchased this cute little bird cage Torso stand too to show off my wares!

I made this little Apron skirt too out of Patty Youngs Mezzanine fabric. I have had this fabric sitting in my stash for ages and wasnt quite sure what to do with it. I think it turned out ok!

I ventured to the Post Office this morning eagerly anticipating the arrival of my 30 yards of Meadowsweet Collection. My goodness it is breathtaking. I took it to work and one of my colleagues was just as excited as I was as she got some scissors and helped me unravel the packaging just so she could have the first dibs in selecting that perfect print for a little dress for her niece. I just keep looking at it all day!!! Cant wait to get my hand on my sewing machine and create some nice little dresses.

Well Im off to a flying start!!! In my mind that is, I have been frantically scribbling down my ideas for the new year and cant wait to see them come to fruition. I have had a bit of a hard time grasping the concept of Shirring. My teenage daughters have been nagging me all summer to make them frocks for the beach with Shirring. I tired my hand at it on the weekend but it didnt turn out the way that everyone says it should. I have followed so many tutorials, however mine doesnt bunch up as much as I would like and made a size 5 childs dress which fits my 18 year old in the bust ho hum!!! Any body have some good hints as ive tried them all!! Well off to the sewing machine again for the new year I have a spot at the Boutique Markets this Sunday starts at 8am - 1pm. See you there maybe :D

Not a Happy Camper

3 Weeks to go!!!! BIDM here we come

Wow can you believe its only three weeks to go until we dawn the streets of Hamilton again.... Well my weekend was full of cramming which included finishing off all of my stash of unfinished sewing (thats because I get so bored easily and have lots of new designs going around in my head) then there was catching up with friends which always turns into more than just catching up and feeling a bit seedy the nexyt day! then it was family time and went for a trip to Bribie yesterday to reconnect with the kids and hubby!!!! Get home and crammed a few more dresses in then made a roast lamb and then started the weekly washing of uniforms and work clothes.....Does it ever stop for the working mum I think not! Lucky for my multi vitamins and Berocca! So if I took a photo of my work space right now and posted it people would be in shock!!! It looks like someone has ransacked my room or a tornado which ever one you can identify with mess!!!! Well heres to another jam crammped week ladies. Happy Creating!

Bula Bula

Bula everyone,

Well we had the most fantastic holiday EVER!!!! And came home straight off the plane to a surprise 40th Birthday for myself!!!! Boy oh Boy did the family keep that from me well.

Anyway its back to the sewing machine and getting my sewing room in order to start some fabulous creations for our up an coming BIDM in December cant wait!

You will notice that most of the material I chose is of green
Pink Hues. I love blue too but I find it really hard to find
funky prints in blue. If you know of any cool sites that have

I entered my sewing room yesterday with all good intentions..... I started sewing all the little frilly pants and as I was admiring the selection of material and how cute these little pants were turning out but something just didn't look right... Now mind you when I entered my little cave I did have words with my significant other half so was probably not concentrating as much as I should have... Well I placed the frills on the front of the pants instead of the back. Dear oh Dear I threw the pants in the air and walked out of my room got myself a nice glass of white wine and went and sat around the pool.. Now I am kicking myself for waisting a whole afternoon lazing around and not being productive. Ah well I have a few orders for some pillowcase dresses so have to get back into it tonight.

So Shabby but So Chic, my bags are beautifully created with designer fabrics and are fully lined inside and out with PVC for that Shimmy Shimmy effect.
